I'm going to make your job a lot easier and faster.

First download OpenOffice (free alternative to Microsoft Office)

Next download the post attachment (simple spreadsheet) and open with OpenOffice. It's at the bottom of my post.

Step 1. Input the points each driver gained in the "Points" column. Save the file as Week 1, Week 2, etc. being sure not to overwrite your main template.

Step 2. Put a "x" in the "Pick" column if the person you are trying to calculate has picked that driver. (I'll use this week's winner, Nerd-Vol, as an example)

(Note:If the drop down arrow is visible move to step 5. I saved it with auto filters on but I'm not sure if that carries over to a newly downloaded program)
Step 3. Click "D" column and make sure the column is highlighted.

Step 4. Click "Data" on the menu bar and navigate to "Filters>AutoFilter" and click.

Step 5. Click the drop down arrow at the top of the "Pick" column and select "x" in the drop down menu.

Step 6. Click the empty box next to the "Total Score" row in the "Points" column and drag up till the column is highlighted.

Step 7. Click the sum icon(Greek letter) next to the input line. Note: If the input line is not visible, click View from the menu and make sure Formula Bar has a check beside it.

Viola. There's your score.

When you want to move on to the next person close the file, disregard any changes, and open Week1, or whatever you named it and start over.

It will actually be very easy to use once you've done it a couple of times. You will also have to manually add in any bonus points that player received for top picks/pole awards. I added a bonus section for calculating any bonus points a player has that week.


This is a very basic spreadsheet, it may work with MS office I haven't tried. I'm sure someone that has more experience can make a better one that's more automated, feel free to improve it.

I'm still going to do it for the time being, but I have a feeling me handing it over to someone else will be inevitable before seasons end. I'm in the middle of searching for a place to live once my fiancé and I get married in October, and then their is helping to plan for that little event also. It seems I'm finding less and less time to do it every week so for the betterment of the game someone else will most likely have to take over at some point.
