NASCAR Daytona Advise

I havent been following Nascar as much as I have this year, and I am seeing if I could get some advice from my fellow Vols. Quick backstory into my situation. This year, we have decided to make our Fantasy League Football draft a little more interesting. Instead of randomizing the pick, we decided to make it a little more competitive. So what we have done is based on last years standings, we will get to pick a drive for this upcoming Daytona Race. Our driver doesn't have to win, it will just be based on how each one of our drivers finishes in the race. Now with that said, I have 4 drivers in mind. Let me know what you all think.

1. Tony Stewart. Reasoning. He has won the most Daytona 400's lately than any other driver. He finished second in qualifying, and the last 3 times he has won the Daytona 400, he did it from the front.

2. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Reasoning. He is my favorite driver. I always root for him to do well. He always does good at restrictor plate races. However, I just don't see him doing too well this race.

3. Brad Kesolowski. Reasoning. Everybody says that he is the hottest driver right now and he did just win last weeks race. Problem is that Kesolowski doesn't really have a drafting partner, and even though tandem racing is done, you need to have someone you can depend on in Daytona.

4. Matt Kenseth. Reasoning. He won the pole, leads in points, and won the last Daytona race. However, I feel that with him announcing he is out of Rousche, there might be some distractions. Also, nobody has ever swept Daytona.

Ok, so those are my thoughts. The only driver off the board at this point is Biffle. I just need some general advice about who you guys would think the safest bet is. Remember, they dont have to win the race, just beat all my buddies drivers.

Thank you!

Tony's qualifying was not counted and now starts 42nd and NASCAR found something wrong at inspection. Tough to come back from 42nd.

I didn't know that. Thanks for thy info. I was going to pick him for sure if nobody responded. Ok so now I'm leaning to either Jr. or Kenseth. Anyone else?

It ain't hard for smoke to come back at a resricter plate race. My top 3 choices would be jr, kenseth and Johnson. Jr solely that he has most top 103too pf anyone this year and he is good at restricter plate races.

Hard to go against Kenseth, he generally stays out of trouble and goes into the (inevitable) final restart in crunch time with a chance

Yeah and with him and Biffle running so good together lately, it's hard not to pick him. I just don't know.

Jr has the most top 10 finishes this year and finished second in the 500. Factor in his plate racing ability and he's a solid pick.

They're all good picks because they're all good plate racers. It's doesn't matter where you start. It matters where your teammates are with 5 to go.

Honestly that makes me want to pick Jr. Jr has more/better teammates and I think more people would follow/draft with Jr over Kennseth or Kesolowski.

Biffle pushed Kenseth once already this year.

Keselowski won at Talladega.

This just makes it a tougher pick. Who would you pick doozer? You seem to be the go to guy of all racing.

Its Daytona, as long as he starts the race he has shot at winning. Unless he hangs back to hope in avoiding the "Big One" he will likely be in the top 15 by lap 6-8.
