The Le Mans 24 Hours / WEC 2012 Thread!

The entry list for the 24 and the WEC was announced today, with some very interesting surprises...

La liste des 56 concurrents invits la 80me dition !

Main news:

4 Audi's at the 24, with two hybrids,

Pescarolo Team running a Dome S102 2012 spec at Spa and Le mans with apparently an Aston Martin AMR One chassis for the whole WEC season,

Two Toyotas at Le Mans and they have applied for manufacturer points. They have 2 full season entries for the WEC but will start racing at Spa,

No Lotus Evora GTE has been invited,

Jetalliance have also not been invited with their Lola P2,

Starworks have entered a HPD chassis for the WEC,

Aston Martin are definitley back in GTE, but surprisingly one in the Pro and one in the AM class,

BMW will not compete in GT unfortunaltey, because they want to focus on DTM,

2 Dyson Lola Mazda's at Le Mans which they got for winning the LMP1 class in the 2012 ALMS and the Green X challenge,

No Risi once again,

No Robertson Ford GT because of lack of funding,

Signatech Nissan have managed to gain 2 entries even after being messed about by Peugeot one day before the origional entry deadline,

I still can't believe that there are 18 LMP2's in the LM24. Lots of attrition will surely be expected...

Great quali session. Audi dominating as expected. Corvette running strong though, Jordan Taylor already looks very impressive.

Fingers crossed that Level 5 can get their 01e which had it's prang during the P2 session can get out for tomorrows race.
