I started to ask before the race in anyone knew Treor Bayne,

since he listed his home as being Knoxville.

Great job by him today, congratulations to the youngest winner ever, is this the new silver fox??

Congratulations also to the Woods Brothers, it's been a while but they've hung in there.

Think they will have any trouble getting a full time sponsor now??

Has anyone watched him race before today??

I wonder how Waltrip feels? Will kicking him out for Ryan Truex and Travis Pastrana work?

I have! I raced go karts with him a couple times back in 2002 at Beechnut Raceway in Blountville. I always figured he'd make it big because he was an awesome driver and his parents had a lot of money which helped, too.

He was really nice even then. So pretty much I've been following him since 2001 when he was about 10.

After go karts he started racing the Allison Legacy series where I think he had to get a special permit to drive and he became the youngest driver in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup series when he was 15 or so.

Then he went to the Camping World East Series for DEI and raced in it a couple seasons. DEI dropped him after they made some cuts (mistake), and I BELIEVE that he was on a break until Michael Waltrip picked him up when he turned 18 and he ran a few Nationwide races before he dropped him and Rousch picked him up.

And yeah most people know what's happened from there but that's kind of a summary of where he came from...dirt kart racing. He said he started go kart racing in the #24 (after Jeff Gordon), but when I race with him he was #00 and then #08.

We both had the same go-kart engine builder outta Greenback, Tennessee...big Eddy Thompson.

It was AWESOME to see him get the win.

Here you go:

NASCAR fans ask: Who is 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne?

He ran several Nationwide races in 2010 showing much promise. I just hope they don't push him too quickly up the learning curve.

Some drivers just don't tear it up in Nationwide but do well at Cup. See 5
time, he didn't set the world on fire either at the lowest level.
