The Brian Keselowski Story

I know its late but its good to see an underdog story like that happen. Penske offered one of there new R6 motors but Brian's team couldn't get it installed before Sunday sadly so they'll race the older R5. Also Ray Evernham will be picking up the tire bill and he got a sponsorship deal from Golden Corral apparently.

This is the kinda story that makes you want to root for all the underdogs. Just wished they had a hope in hell of winning.

Evernham got the best deal cause they will be in the garage waaay before that first set of tires is worn out. Actually he could probably get some of his money back selling them for "scuffs".

I don't understand why they cannot install an engine by Sunday. Some changed engines between practice sessions.

Maybe it wasn't a free offer, and they cannot afford it, or they plan to start and park. As of Friday night, there wasn't a full pit crew.

The R6 couldn't be mounted to a five/six year old car, they would have had to do a ton of work and couldn't get it done in time for final practice apparently. On the good news though Discount Tires is sponsoring the #92.

i was thinking it was more about not having the resources than it was having the ability.

once it became clear, though, he was going to be in the race, with one of Roger's sponsors; surely some cash to make thing happen would show up.

You would think so, I mean that's what a sponsor does, ponies up some cash.

The mounts are completely different and the R6 requires a different fuel pump. Too little time and manpower to make the switch.

Gonna be sad when the inevitable happens and he doesn't finish the race.

I'm not sure they intend to try to finish since they have (had) no pit crew. In an interview he said there wasn't much money to pay a crew.

He said on Sirius radio tonight that he was racing. He said he parked in Nationwide last year, but it's financially better for him to attempt the full cup season this year because of purse money.

Morgan Sheppard was gonna start and park his car(nationwide) at Talladega a few years ago. Stewart bought him enough tires for the race and I think another team worked the pit stops and he ran up near the front most of the day and was in the top 10 when he got caught up in a wreck near the end. I'm sure they can round up some guys from a nationwide team that are willing to donate their time and go over the wall for him.
