Chuck Knoblauch- in trouble.

I heard Chuck beat up/ or physically harmed his common law wife last night in Houston. After being on the "banned substance list", and ending his decent carrer, things have gone south.

HOUSTON (CBS/AP) - Former major leaguer second baseman Chuck Knoblauch has been charged with assaulting his common-law wife.

A judge set Knoblauch's bond at $10,000 after he appeared in court Tuesday.

According to a criminal complaint, Knoblauch's wife told police he hit her in the face and then choked her at their west Houston home on Friday.

The couple is currently going through a messy divorce, according to KHOU.

"It's a disagreement between he and his wife. They're going through a divorce," Knoblauch's attorney, Dan Cogdell, told the station. "It's a rough time for both of them and we hope to get this behind us as quickly as we can."

The 41-year-old former infielder is a Houston native and a four-time All-Star who played for the New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals from 1991-02.

Knoblauch was one of more than 80 players who were accused of using performance-enhancing drugs in the 2007 Mitchell Report on baseball's steroids era. Knoblauch later acknowledged using= performance enhancers.

You don't remember Chuck Knoblauch? The guy threw the ball in the stands more times than the San Diego chicken.

I remember him. I guess I didn't realize he's been out of baseball 7 years.

Wow I'm starting to feel old.
