I love how people portray Scott Boras as the devil as if he holds a gun to the head of the owners and forces them to sign the contracts.

He is just masterful at what he does. Has not heart, soul, or love for the game. He is good at what he does, just ruthless. As long as the Steinbrenners are in charge at NY, he wont be hurting anytime soon.

Exactly. Boras is just doing his job. It isn't his fault the Yankees continue to increase their payroll despite having nothing to show for it. How many offseasons do we have to put up with people telling us the Yankees will be unbeatable?

Just because they put the fastest ar on the track doesn't mean it won't crash into a wall.

The thing is, the numbers may have changed, but this is nowhere near a new phenomenon. The Yankees have been pulling this stunt since the days of Reggie Jackson and Catfish Hunter.

I agree about the Yankees, but I think the Braves play it about as straight as you can and still be competitive, which is why I still love MLB. Oh and by the way your avatar has me LMAO.

The bravos were wheeling and dealing all through their 15 year run. Give me a break.

Sure they were as all teams do, but do you really think they're as ridiculous as the Yankees in the obscene salaries and conditions?

No one in mlb is spending like the yabkees, but you can't say the yanks aren't playing it straight. They are just taking their profits and reinvesting it into their company. Everyone acting like it is the worst thing in the world should love the fact that their plan continues to backfire.

Much like the Dallas Cowboys everybody likes seeing a team with a bought all star at most positions you love seeing the money fail to bring home the title. It's chemistry among the roster and fundamentals execution that win titles, not salaries.

Biggest problem I have with the Yanks is how they can spend 450 million on 3 players, when just 3 weeks ago they asked for 450 million in public bonds to help finish off their stadium. Mets, Yankees ask NYC for more stadium money : Sports : WSTM NBC3
