| | VN GURU | Randy Johnson Anyone think he can get to 300 wins. He currently has 294. Lately it seems like Arizona is trying as hard as they can to prevent him from getting there. I'm not sure he has enough left in him for another season, and this year it looks unlikely.
On another note, the Padres just swept the D-backs who were pitching their top 3 guys.

| He absolutely has enough left in the tank to get there. Seems to me like I read something fairly recently which said he was leaning towards coming back next year. Unless he's in tremendous, unrelenting pain, I don't see how you can walk away when you're that close to 300 and you have a plus ERA like he does.
I don't know what is contract status is for next year, but if Arizona doesn't want him, somebody will. We could use him here in Atlanta, that's for sure. |

I like Randy Johnson. I hope he does get to 300 and that question isn't a knock on the Braves necessarily, nor is a knock on Randy Johnson. Just a realistic question. |

Just a realistic question. | 2009 became a total wash for the Braves when Hudson went down. The ace of the staff next year is going to be a 23 year old who's won 14 games in his career; the Braves are going to need bodies for the rotation. I'd take a one-year flier on Johnson if he was willing to work cheap in return for a shot at 300 wins. |

| Right now he is 10-9 with a 4.02 era. He also has 148 K's in 152 innings....not too shabby for a 45 year old pitcher...I think he's got another year left in the tank. Unless the Braves think they can win it next year some team who does will sign him and pay him more than Atlanta. |

I just used the Braves as an example of a team that could use him. Somebody will want him; he'll get his 300 wins. |
