Joe Nuxhall, who was the youngest player in major league history and the beloved "old left-hander" on Cincinnati Reds radio broadcasts, died overnight following a bout with cancer, the team said Friday. He was 79.
Thanks for the memories Nuxy.
God Bless you and your family

We lost a true Hall Of Fame human being today. The Ol' Lefthander has now truly "rounded for third and headed for home." Godspeed, Joe.

Thats what i thought. Way to go Bob Cast Now Weathers can go back to beign a setup man and we might actually have a decent bullpen. I like it.

No, they're wasting almost $12 mil a year on an aging gas can. Terrible move.

Have to disagree, he probably has about 3 or 4 good years left. A big indicator of pitchers falling off is the strikeout to walk ratio, he has shown improvement over the last few years, his ERA has been solid and he is not giving up a lot of home runs. He blew 7 saves last year, which isn't great, but is better than his last two years. Lastly, considering the bullpen we have had for the last few years, I think he helps immensely. Besides, how much longer can Weathers continue to be a reliable option at the back end of the pen?

I agree with you. He isnt the greatest but he is a solid closer (something we don't have right now). We might have overpaid for him but I think it will be worth it. It also shows that Bob Cast is atleast trying to make this team a contender.

If the front office couldn't come up with a better way to spend $12 million dollars a year than signing Francisco Cordero, they're completely hopeless.
