Swanson with 15 bombs in college as a plus-plus defense shortstop is so good.

Just went first overall. Smooth operator.

I didn't want to have to cheer for a Vandy player so I'm glad it eliminated the Astros from having the chance to take him.

Who do you think the Stros will draft?

Or I should say, who would you take if you were picking?

I haven't paid enough attention this year to give a fair answer. Only really tuned in to coverage in the past week.

One of the picks will be Rogers or Bregman, IMO. Maybe Bregman below slot and then a HS player.

I'll be wrong in just a couple minutes.

Well, they just called up Correa so I guess they have another SS to work his way up through the system now. Although the guy just said he thinks Bregman would be a 2nd baseman.

Based on the mock drafts it was a reach just to get his brother :/

I don't think so. Not saying he is a sure thing, but I've seen mocks with him in that spot.

Twins taking Mike Cameron's son.

What did Peter Gammons just say?

Ted Williams... um... sure. Would be awesome but Ted Williams??

Was he in the spot though because of his brother though? :p

The SI mock had the Stros taking Cameron.

I won't complain though because I really have no idea about baseball players this young. Never seen em play.

So Daz Cameron only fell because of his high asking price(5 million)? That's pretty awesome if the Astros can sign him. Especially if part of the reason he demanded so much was knowing the Astros would be one of the only teams that could afford him and that's what he wanted. And maybe he actually would sign for less than 5 million? If you want 4 million, you should still ask for 5 because you don't usually get your asking price.

I read comments from Cameron in a 2014 article about playing for USA(U18) at Minute Maid and he went on about how much he loves the ballpark and would love to spend his career playing in it(he really liked the retractable roof).

With the Astros being young, having money to pay him and his love for the ballpark, I wonder if he purposely threw out such a high number and the Astros by having two of the top 5 slots, manipulated the draft by taking two other players(Tucker who Astros took 5th, SI had going 11th to the Reds) in hopes that he'd fall because nobody else could afford his asking price once he fell past 5th. If he truly were set on 5 million(could be a ploy) or would go to FSU instead, Minnesota was only allotted $3,889,500 for the 6th pick. Other than the D'backs and Rockies, the Astros had basically double the bonus allotment of everyone else.

All of this on paper sounds like a really good draft for the Astros. Three players in the draft with potential top 10 talent if they're able to sign them all. That may be easier said than done. Really hope the Astros can get them all signed.

Tucker Tubbs, whom was a year below me at my high school, was selected by the Red Sox in the 9th round.
