What a life.

Met Babe Ruth.

Played with Jackie Robinson.

Got beaned and was unconscious for two weeks which led to NLB adopting the batting helmet.

Was coaching 3rd base when Carlton Fisk hit the famous walk off HR in the 75 WS.

Was one of the original NY Mets and was an original coach for the Rockies.

Coached alongside Joe Torre for all those Yankee WS titles.

Dude was the Forrest Gump of baseball.

One of the few remaining "baseball men" that did it for their entire life. What a run he had, and all those historical MLB events he was involved in. Sad to hear of his passing.

SportsCenter had a thing on him this morning. I didn't realize the guy have been in baseball that long. 66 years. RIP Zimmer.
