He isn't. | 5714 strike outs and 7 no hitters both MLB records. Also has the most 1 hit games and 2 hit games all time. His # is retired by 3 teams and he was 1st ballot HOF. Pretty damned good and I don't see how that guy is overrated. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

He's not in the 'best pitcher of all time' conversation, and some act like he is. |

Pretty damned good and I don't see how that guy is overrated. Posted via VolNation Mobile | There's a reason he threw seven no hitters with no perfect games in there.
He couldn't get the ball across the plate.
He has a CAREER 4.67 BB/9. His WHIP was 1.25. A very good pitcher usually has that at 1.15. His best bWAR was 7.5 and for his career 77.4.
I won't be an ingrate. He's a great pitcher, and I will say Hall of Famer.
But here's his biggest indictament. In 27 years, he NEVER won a Cy Young. At no point did the voters say "Alright, there is no doubt Nolan Ryan is the best pitcher in baseball."
That says something.

And it's not like the guy had 1 or 2 or even 3! The guy had 7!!! The next closest all time is 3! And he has the most 1 hit and 2 hit games of all time. Posted via VolNation Mobile |
