| Ozzie Smith -vs- Ryne Sandberg Which guy would you say was the over-all better baseball player? |

| The Wizard.
And I loved watching Sandberg play, even as a Cardinals fan |

| | Giver of Sexy | Ozzie was one of the best fielders ever at his position with an average (at best) bat. Sandberg was an exceptional defender at his position with an exceptional bat for his position.
Sandberg by a wide margin

Ozzie average was .262 and 28 hr. RBI 793
Sandberg stolen bases 344
Ozzie stolen bases 580
Offensive stats Sanberg has a big edge.
defense edge goes to Ozzie with a big edge 13 gold gloves compared to 9
The prick factor goes to Sanberg by a MILE.
Both were very good ball players and both have their #'s retired and HOF voter % edge goes to Ozzie by a huge margin of 91% to 76%
I think it's a stretch to say either was better by a mile. An arguement can be made for either player.

| Ryne is better overall, but there are few as good defensively as the Wizard. As a kid, there was nothing as exciting as when Ozzie would break out in his cartwheels and backflip routine |

I do think Smith has the edge at a slightly tougher position, however, it isn't because of an award they hand to Derek Jeter every year. |

Ryne not so much. Posted via VolNation Mobile |
