Saw this on Daring Fireball. The Yankees sent Mantle a letter in 1973 asking him to describe his "outstanding experience" at Yankee Stadium, in "as much detail as possible." He complied. Not for the easily offended.

Hilarious. Mick was often too candid for his own good.

Every biography I've read indicates he was a helluva interview.
