Joe West Is A Blight On The Game.

I'm watching that fat redneck piece of garbage act like a fool in the Rangers-A's game. He's supposed to be working first base, but he just took it upon himself to go break up a meeting on the mound. I guess there's some hayseed bar in his next town that has an early closing time and Cowboy Joe wants the game over. The fact MLB hired that piece of trash back after he walked off his job during the umpire strike proves baseball's executives are dumber than BP's.

That entire crew is a joke.

But in no way is that his responsibility, and for a "crew chief" to do that is a joke.

The home plate ump should have walked directly into the hospitality room and watched the rest of the game with a beer in hand.

The amazing thing was that the guy behind the plate was standing on the mound just staring at West. He didn't even acknowledge his "crew chief" telling people to hurry up so he could make Happy Hour at Bob's Country Bunker.

The real shame is there are some damn good umpires in the minors busting their arses and can't get a shot because guys like West, Bucknor and Hernandez holding down spots.

Who umped home for the Sox/Yanks yesterday?

I seen him look at his watch on more than one occasion, could be why he was calling anything close to the plate.

Jerry Layne was behind the plate.

He is notorious for having a large zone. Especially when people like Ortiz attempt to show him up.

Ortiz did not show him up or even attempt to...a few of those pitches were more than suspect.

The last one was not as bad as it looked originally.

Teddy is in a class of his own.

Joe West is a clown, but he's not quite to Teddy's level.

I agree but before that it was questionable and he sorta made a spectacle out of it with his late antics.

Either way, I seen him looking at his watch like he had somewhere to be afterwards.

If he had a watch on he will be hearing from the league office.

I disagree. On the rare occasions he shows up to officiate instead of be a spectacle, Valentine is a quality official. West is totally incompetent at all times.

I just can't give Teddy any props.

Obviously he is talented because of the amount of postseason games he has been assigned. But I'd rather slam my hand with a hammer than say a good thing about Teddy. There's nothing I hate more in sports than the "look at me" garbage.
