Now that Ramar and Duke are gone, what does our lineup look like next year?

And how is the Bobby Maze recruitment going? I don't see West being able to handle such a huge load as a frosh.

Most likely scenario, as I see it now:
West/Prince/Tabb/Maze/who knows PG
Hopson/Tatum SG
Tyler/Prince SF
Chism/Woolridge PF
Williams C

If Ramar was still on the team, I thought it possible that Tatum would start at the 2, Hopson at the 3, Tyler at the 4, Chism at the 5. No longer, as that scenario would involve possibly starting 3 freshmen.

I'll take a shot at this:

Maze/West/Prince -- PG (if no Maze, then slide one to the left)
Hopson/Tatum/Tabb -- SG
Smith/Prince/Woolridge -- SF
Chism/Childress/Woolridge -- PF
Williams/Chism/Jurick -- C

Love that Chris Sabo avatar! He was my hero back in the day :)

*sigh* ... the Good ol' Days. Too bad the Reds suck now.

Making the jump from HS to College ball as a freshman isn't nearly as difficult as in other sports. It is possible that starting 3 freshman this year will be our best lineup... in which case, I hope Pearl does, but then again, he also thought it was a good idea to play his son in the NCAA tournament....

Short, painful story regarding this picture.

I'm studying abroad in London, and my friends told me I had to see this movie. So I hop on the subway to go to the theater, and I see a big ad with this picture of the lineup, and someone had written on it: "It's him," with an arrow pointing to you-know-who.

Nice.

It is if your high recruiting ranking is based on your upside. Hopson is still raw, but he'll still make a big contribution. As for the other freshmen, Jurick, Woolridge, and West still have a lot to learn, and talent alone will not make them Final 4 players as freshmen, especially in the cases of Woolridge and Jurick who both have some huge question marks.

Does anyone else think a starting lineup with Tatum AND Hopson is preferable and possible?

Tyler, Wayne and Hopson are locks. We need a PG and a 3. I have no opinion on the PG now. I'd like the 3 to be Tatum. I'd prefer Prince back up Tatum and Tabb back up Hopson. Childress or Woolridge back up Tyler. Williams back up Chism.

With the news of Maze verbally committing, it appears he'll be the favorite to start at PG.

So, the lineup I'd like to see, with backups:

1-Maze/West
2-Hopson/Tabb
3-Tatum/Prince
4-Smith/Childress OR Woolridge
5-Chism/Williams

We'll miss Duke's muscle and athleticism down low, but we'll gain better shooters with either Childress or Woolridge. Otherwise, I think we'll be at least as talented, if not moreso, than last year's team.

(Disclaimer: I have no idea if Woolridge will be good enough to play his frosh year.)
