I have never seen so many cheap calls favoring a home team in a very long time. Tennessee couldn't beat Vanderbilt because the refs did not want that to happen, did they?

Every time Tennessee pulled it close, the refs became very whistle happy, I am not upset with this loss because Tennessee did not lose, Vanderbilt was handed the win.

perhaps you missed the 'blocked shot' where our guy basically punched the vandy player in the face

If it were not for that fact, we would not be down EVERY time we came close, it's obvious that's what has happened, I don't see the problem about venting where WE WERE WRONGED.

Vanderbilt got away with alot, period.

Is the WORST I have ever seen in any college or pro B-Ball game since I have been watching basketball. These refs have called the most tic-tac fouls EVER on both sides tonight.

it's natural to notice these 'errors' when they go against your team, and to fail to notice them when they work in your favour. The game wasn't that poorly officiated, or even to the extent that it was it hardly favored one team over another.

If you can set there and say lets not be that type of fan you must not have watched the same game I did.

...but it would have worked in our favor if we had hit more foul shots.

It was pretty bad both ways, but I agree, the officials controlled the game.

What killed you were the two 7 minute-plus streaks in the game where you didn't have a field goal. Frankly, you are a LOT better than Vandy. Anyone can see that and that you only lost by 3 given those stretches is testament to your will to win.

The refs were terrible for both sides.
That was kinda obvious. I screamed for fouls against us and fouls against them, no calls for us and no calls for them.

C'mon now. Let's not turn into Kentucky fans. There are bad calls every game. Ours just came at the worst possible time. Oh well, we can still get atleast a 2 seed.

Perhaps you should look at how many free throws each team took and how many fouls were called.

Who cares if we were called for ticky tack fouls every time the game got close?

We had 2 of their top 3 players on the bench most of the 2nd half and didn't do anything about it. We had our opportunities and didn't take them.

31 of 32 at home and 4 in a row against #1 teams at home. That's the toughest place in the country to play if you're #1 and no one wants to go play there, period. Any coach and any team will tell you how tough it is to play there, especially when you come off of a game like we had against Memphis.

Yes, it sucks. Yes we're bummed. But take your 15 posts and learn a bit about fan ethics. You sound like a Vanderbilt fan with that whining. haha

I will not make any excuse for the pathetic game we played tonight, but how many seconds were lost while the refs wouldn't give us a foul at the end while we were TRYING to foul Vanderbilt, but they were calling everything prior to that.

We won't make it far in the tournament if we don't learn how to shoot foul shots and not turn the ball over so much. It seems like we turn the ball over every other possession sometimes.

The refs didn't lose us this game. Move on...

Oh and since you're worried about fouls and free throws. Go talk to the refs about calling so many on us because maybe we could have gotten a few rebounds and put backs from the 68% we shot from the line. haha

That's the big thing I noticed.

Those last few no calls prolly cost us 20 or 30 seconds. Heck yes the refs were a huge part of the loss. Not the only reason but a big ole part. We were emotionally and physically spent, and as a result played horribly. But to put all of the blame for this loss on our players and give the refs a free pass is too much.

glad to hear most of you all are not blaming the refs. Grabbing the jerseys and running into players are going to get a whistle every time. Whether you're ranked 286th or first. Poor execution on the Vols part, especially since Vandy kept fouling in the final minutes instead of wrapping it up.
