What this forum is all about.

The board is continuing to grow at an exponential pace. The number of threads and posts are getting more and more difficult to sort through. There are many days when people don't want to wade through all the "fashion design" threads, the uniform threads, and the Fulmer threads.

My idea was to have our premium and trusted members help us determine throughout the day, which posts and stories are the most important so that the casual VolNation members can find out quickly what they need to know each day.

Here is the way it will work.

Every month we will have a new thread :

August Fresh Links


Inside the thread, we won't be posting discussions. Only short tidbits with links to the relevant article or forum topic. I decided to call them fresh links (I actually copied that from another football site but that's not important ) I prefer that most of the links point to the board thread but that is not always mandatory. In some cases there may be a topic with several relevant external links that are easier to link to directly.

I will be starting all the threads for this month and I'm sure you guys will catch on. Please only use this thread for discussion. DO NOT start any other threads in this forum or post anything besides the daily fresh links thread.

I will be pulling the posts in this forum on to the top of the front page of the site so that it will be the first thing that people see when visiting the site.

Love the idea. It'd be better, if possible, to only allow people you trust to post the fresh links here.

That has already been handled to some degree.

Guru's and mods right now are the only ones who can post here. I would welcome other long time members if they would like to participate.

Could work pretty well if everyone uses it, not sure if people will though. IMO, a better name wouldn't hurt.

I agree. I think it's a great idea. I noticed when I followed the link, they were shown as hot links. I like that better than fresh links. JMO.

VKB, do you think people won't use the links on the front page or people won't contribute to the links list?

Both to some degree. Mostly people not contributing to the links. I could be completely wrong though. It may work like a charm and be a great feature for the site.

I love the idea Freak. This is my main source for reliable Vol news from those members who have build a decent reputation for knowing what they are talking about (You know who your are). This idea builds on that base.

I wasn't really sure what was going on at first but I must say I find the Hot Links section to be quite helpful.

How long before someone screws it up?
