How do you make the backwards K?
A "backwards K" is a called third strike, meaning the batter did not swing at a pitch that the umpire then ruled a strike to record the out. This is different from a regular "K," which is used to denote a strikeout where the batter swung and missed or foul-tipped the ball but was caught by the catcher.
