Recruiting Football Talk VII

I didn’t either. I thought it came right back to him. The fact he ended up with the ball on the side is Bird-like.

Speaking, of Allan, DK is the best volume scorer we’ve had since him. I’m putting him ahead of Lofton now cause he can score more off the dribble. But in my mind, DK=Houston.
I was noticing watching that Houston highlight reel the similarity with Knecht in lift off on their jumpers and the high arch of the shots.

Not sure if it was the blizzard. To be honest, I may be mis-remembering the snow. That was a long time ago and some memories are hazy. But I remember being at that game and the incredible ending.
I had to check. The Youtube video of Houston's creative heroics at the foul line says that was Feb 24, 1993. KNS says the blizzard hit on March 12-13, 1993. So it was the year but not the day.

Can you tell if it snowed that night?

Temperature had dipped to 30° by game time on Feb. 24. 1993, but the inch of snow didn't start until 7 a.m. the next morning. I figure you were still up and out streaking at 7 a.m. after the big win, so I can see how you would consider it the same day. I'm going to count it.

Note: I had to correct the blizzard date (above) to March 12-13.

Or..he was a really naive jealous simp that had a crush on a sloppy ho jock groupie..it was one or the other.

All these years later, and I still don't know how I feel about DB and his actions. I do know that your head will get completely twisted when your heart is involved....he probably just took her word for it out of gullibility shaded by extreme jealousy.

Ultimately...I believe he was trying to be a white knight.
Racist imo

Low key, I put the DB stuff out of my mind. I feel like I repressed a lot of that time period in Vol football history lol

A nerd yeti ? Yeah, not a surprise.
Even a nerd Yeti can rip you apart.

You know there is a mural of you and Yukan Jack (or whatever his name is) on an old building, on the corner of Atlantic and Pershing (near Broadway, Christenberry/Fulton area), in Knoxville. I've been meaning to stop and take a pic of me defiling you, now I'm doing it for sure. Potential post of the year

Yukon Cornelius. And that movie was fiction. IRL, I kicked Cornelius's ass, in the Waffle House parking lot.

Have you seen the mural ? I saw it months ago and meant to take a pic. But, I thought it would go to your head and it doesn't need to get any bigger or hairier. Although, I thought of you when I first saw it and imagined how I could embarrass you with some crude act. That's kind of a compliment

lol

I don't recall seeing it.

Both....but def final four over Omaha by a lot
I’d rather go to Omaha by a lot lol.

The baseball tournament is more fun than the basketball one. It’s perfectly done. But I like baseball more than basketball.

If I had to rank the championships I’d take given the choice though, it’d be football, baseball and then basketball.

hey Doc,
what are your thoughts on ezetimibe? I also do the statins and fish oil but my cardio doc put me on the ezetimibe in addition. I understand it is supposed to help with absorption.
I really don’t have any experience with it. I am Sports Medicine/Pain Intervention Specialist.

I have patients on it. No real complaints about it from patients. Usually if a medication is troublesome, my patients tell me all about it. Sorry that I don’t know more about it.

If this was as frequent as some of the families I know that do travel ball we'd probably have to. There are a lot of dads that seem not to go, but I could not imagine that.
Totally agree.

When my son played travel ball and was in Scouts, my daughter was in competitive dance. My wife would go with my daughter and I with my son. I prayed for no conflicting schedules because I loved all three events. As I was a coach and an assistant Scoutmaster, I pretty much had to go with my son.
My daughter’s last 2 years of competitive dance was awesome. My son was in college, so I didn’t miss any of her dance competitions. She was also on the high school dance team and I went to every single game that they performed at.

I’m happy that they are both in college, but man do I miss that part of life.

I can’t understand the parents that just drop their kids off for anything. Unless they are stuck at work or with a different family obligation. Just blows my mind. It was really sad that with Scouts and baseball , I spent more time with many kids than their parents did. They grow up so fast.

Of course ESPN is promoting Edey for national player of the year. But check out who they photoshopped into their lead photo as the two biggest performers of the year?

The article made me puke. Said Edey won the award by November and it wasn’t even close. Really?!?

From the Knecht as the runner up part of the article “…his single-game performances sparked a conversation that there’s a race for NPOY. There isn’t a race but he’s still good enough to lead the Vols to a final four.”

Happy Friday
March 8, 2024: Take time to rest and rejuvenate when you are running low on energy. Come into My presence and allow Me to renew your spirit, soul and body, says the Lord. Quiet your soul and be still until refreshment comes. Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
