A black man found dead in Piedmont Park, Atl

I lay awake every night, thinking just that.

My friend who we call black Chris allows me three per day. No rollover (which is ****). My name is Chris as well but I'm white so I'm just called Chris.

He questioned it once "wait why isn't he called white Chris" in the middle of chapter for my fraternity. I'm like "really? Dumb question." And moved on.

I bet you wish you could get away with throwing that word around in public.

Do you know him personally? Are yoi black or just a social justice warrior standing up for the poor disnfranchised ethnic minorities plight? Get over yourself.

Both my little sisters are black. Youngest is in college, they are grown. They, and I, are so tired of the race baiting and race being the bug narrative on every news story

America needs to grow up and put their big boy and big girl pants on. Very little real racism exists anymore, and i dare say the bulk of the hate these days is FROM the black community TOWARDS the whites...and its still not prevalent. The media does their best to stir up teoible and divide this country as much as they can though.

I dont care what your skin color is. If you work hard and make good choices, you can succeed in america today. Period. End of story. We grew up lower middle class/ working poor and all my siblings have done fine. 1 of my black little sisters earned a 50 % scholly to a good school in tennessee. She will graduate with honors. The other black sister didnt go to college but has a good job. Never mentions racism. Ever. Neither has ever been negatively impacted because of their race. My white siblings and i have had the exact same opportunities that they have had. None of us graduated college though, and none earned schollies. We are all doing just fine though, and we are all enjoying just as much success as we have EARNED. not had handed to us.

We worry though that the ignorant among our culture will eventually succeed on turning people who would otherwise coexist just fine against eachother with their inflammatory rhetoric and constant drama about every little thing that happens. Every single incident nationwide involving a blacl person and the police ends up on primetime TV...every imagined slight towards a minority is magnified by the media and replayed infinitely. So tired of this crap. People need to drop the excuses, quit looking for a handout or someone to blame for their own failures, put a foot in their own arses and work until they achieve the level of success that will make them content. Nobody is going to do it for you people...you have to EARN success.

Well said. I grew up in a "segregated" society, as far as public restaurants, theaters, schools, etc., but we really weren't totally segregated. We played sports together (not organized), and hung around together. Poor whites and blacks had a lot in common where I came from. When I got to high school and integration, we already knew each other, and got along just fine. No big deal. Race wasn't mentioned.

The racist overtones that ring so loud throughout the VN political forum are just disgusting sometimes. I haven't been here long but I'm seriously having second thoughts about this place.

(....he said even knowing the "Well....................Bye" GIF would soon appear)

Racist? Oh you mean a place where opinions that are different then yours and make you leave your safe place?

Friendly advice, when people are bringing issues of race up and you don't necessarily agree with them, it doesn't make them racist. That is the "conversation about race" that lefties so desire to have right?

Or is the conversation supposed to be a conversation about concession and self pity?

That's what most conservatives that are here do when I smack them around with my superior intellect and wit.

That along with my facts makes them run and hide in their safe space(ignore).

It's not the heat it's the ignorance.

What is the ignorance? I see this term thrown out a lot when people get upset at differing opinions.

The Salem Witch trials, that was ignorance. Murdering albino's for potions in Tanzania. That's ignorance. People believing Obama would be a great president. Again, ignorance.

I don't see much of a conversation here about a black man found hanged. Just a bunch racial innuendo. I guess it makes you feel better about yourself.

Whoa there. The racial innuendo comes from the story where people think it HAS to be the white devils and/or the KKK who did it...read the article comments as the OP said.. Most rational people will see it as a suicide which.... it has already been ruled as. The racial innuendo stems from people desperate to pin any problem then can on people who aren't like them. Facts always seem to get in the way of some racist agenda it appears.
