PS3 Help Anyone?

I did a factory reset on my PS3 and now I cannot get it show a picture in HDMI now. I have followed online instructions at Playstation.com and also called sony which they said it was my TV (WRONG!!).

Notes: it worked fine for about 2 years and I have not changed anything on TV. All I did was a factory reset on PS3.

I have an DVI input on my TV that I am using to plug the HDMI cable in and my audio is on regular analog cables.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: it does detect the HDMI cable but when I switch to it, goes to a blank screen.

Did you turn on the PS3 and press and hold the power button to reset the video settings to SD? If not try this, and then go into your video settings and make the appropriate changes.

yeah man, I've tried everything that I know of. It's my fault for resetting it (trying to get a blue ray disc to play). I didn't have no where near this problem the first time I installed the HDMI cable. Been trying to fix it for a week now.

You tried another TV to narrow down which of the 3 components is bad? (tv, cable, or ps3)

The TV I have it plugged to is a Hitachi 52" LCD HD. I guess it was one of the first HD to hit the market and has a DVI jack instead of a HDMI. They make a adapter that I use to plug the monster cable into the DVI input. I guess its possible for a component to go bad, but it was working fine until I did the PS3 default reset. A component being bad would explain it. Its just weird that is went bad when I did the default reset. I have changed all video setting I could find in the PS3 settings with no luck.

Nothing like being on the bleeding edge of technology. I'd find a TV with HDMI input to test it. I feel like your adapter might be your problem.
