| NCAA 09: Stopping the UF Cheesers We've all played them before. They put Brandon James in at fullback. They Send Harvin deep every play. They sometimes put Harvin in at QB. They kill you with the speed of the skill position players while having zero knowledge of football. I was wondering what fellow gamers use to put these bozos in there place. |

| It's very simple: Find a way to score. Once you do, don't select a play on the kick off screen. Just sit there. Walk away. maybe turn the channel and watch some tv. Eventually they will disconnect.
That's how I inflict divine retribution on them. I waste their time.

If you use a 3-4 or 3-3-5 defensive playbook it is pretty easy to neutralize their speed. I blitz a lot from every possible direction. I always try to make sure I have someone blitzing from the outside on the "wide" side of the field. Mix in some QB contain plays where the OLBs blitz and the DEs drop back into coverage. That usually keeps them from getting to the outside. Make the D line blitz to the inside to stop them up the middle and mix in man and zone to confuse them on pass plays. | Just played a bunch of unranked games to try and figure out how to stop the cheese. I've made 4 guys quit in the last hour. Mission accomplished. |

Generally though, i'll start putting backup corners/safeties, ..etc in at LB to get more speed on the field to match up. Lots of contain by the DEs and the occasional LB Spy

| I just beat someone 67-0 that used Florida. Corner blitzes and double teams work against people that try to beat you with speed on every single play.

| Dude, every time I've faced a guy using Florida(which has been a grand total of 2 times in 11 months), I've won.
The first one - My second ever game online. I was GA Tech and had that option working. Won 28-21, by using a lot of QB contain, spies, and a good mix of zone and man.
The second one - I was West VA. Final score - Me - 84, UF player - 77. That was a game in which I used the old Don Coryell saying, which I'm probably paraphrasing, "If they don't get to the endzone in 3 plays, just let them score". |
