The coaching staff did a great job keeping the players motivated, and the Volunteers took out their annual Floridian frustrations on the rest of the SEC to close out the season on a 8-1 tear. At 11-2 and likely a top 10 final ranking, it is hard to view this season as a disappointment. If you aren't on Rocky Top, that is.
With the departure of two year starter Jon Crompton, some may expect Tennessee to take a small downturn. But don't tell that to James Davis, the talented red shirt freshman waiting in the wings. While replacing a senior quarterback is always difficult, program insiders tell me that James Davis is going into Spring camp with every bit the formidable arm strength of Jonathan Crompton, and nearly the same accuracy. When the skilled offensive staff in Knoxville are through with him, don't be surprised to see a net upgrade in talent, if not experience. And there will be a trio of senior wide receivers to help him in that department. The offensive line and tailback spots are areas of concern, however. It is critical that these needs be addressed in recruiting ASAP.
Expect the Tennessee defense to be much improved. With the exception of some losses to graduation on the defensive line, the squad is set to return many starters who will be all the sharper after another year of experience. If All-American star safety Eric Berry elects to come back for his senior season- watch out. Next year will be a success if: Tennessee holds serve at home and wins the SEC East. That is a tall order, but finishing second every year just won't do in Knoxville. Next year's predicted record: 11-2. The hearts are willing, but Tennessee just doesn't have the horses to supplant Florida from its perch atop the SEC all by itself... yet. But if other teams step up against the Gainesville Juggernauts, the ensuing conference ranking free-for-all could make it anyone's year. | good call. no season previews this year IP? i actually enjoyed the phil steele analysis for the teams

Wow, I was right on with several people though.
EDIT: This is the year Florida loses. That's my call.

EDIT: This is the year Florida loses. That's my call. | My offense is better and my front 7 is probably the best in the nation. Secondary besides my starting FS and CB might be an issue, but I'll manage. I hope to make it 4 in a row.

| i just hope we get this season completed, but i'm not so sure about the chances on that. i come back around the 30th, and ncaa '10 comes out july 14th......so we'll so how that goes.
it all just depends on how much interest this gets once '10 hits the shelves.

| I love this dynasty, but I'll be getting '10 the day it comes. It'll have it's flaws but I'll still enjoy it.
And I'm not going to do recruiting this season so you can advance whenever everyone else is ready. |

| I certainly won't be beating Florida this year - I got a little bit worse... not a a lot worse but my team is now B instead of a B+. My offense is rated lower but I have a decent Oline, RBs, and QB. Just all my WRs suck rating wise (not speed wise thats for sure 99,95,95)... and I have no TE.
My secondary is pretty legit - front 4 not so much... LBs are OK. |

| I don't know, mediocre secondary versus uber-fast WR's seems to not be a bad thing, despite the overalls.

| If it doesn't matter what the overall is besides the speed rating I shouldn't lose this year. My whole secondary is speed speed speed. Posted via VolNation Mobile |
