Alright Guys...

I am doing an informative speech on Friday in my communications class focusing on a comparison between a PS3 and a XBOX 360. Now I'm not just talking about the console itself but also the services it has like Live and all the media stuff it offers(movies, TV shows). Now I know all about the 360 but I don't know much about the PS3 as I dont have one.

So anything got some good info that would help me out especially with the PS3?

Yes.

PS3 is pretty much the best BluRay player on the market and one of the very few that are BD Live (BluRay 2.0) compatable.

Both offer movies and tv shows for download.

360 has a partnership with Netflix so you'll be able to stream their Video On Demand movies through your system this fall. (possible right now if you jump through some hoops)

It's heavily rumored they (360) have partnered with Sirus as well and you'll be able to steam it through the 360. (again, possible now if you jump through some hoops)

Both can play just about any format of video either natively or through transcoding w/ programs like TVersity.

Both sell games and game add-ons through an online interface.

LIVE is $40 or so a year. You are paying for online gaming and quicker access to game demos.

Sony sells Q'ore which is $25/year and grants quicker access to some game demos and access to some betas (SOCOM, Motorstorm 2 so far). It also gives you a 20-30 minute info-mercial for upcoming Sony products along with commercial for non-Sony products.

Not likely. Doesn't really make any sense. If you want a BluRay player, buy a PS3.

Pretty much all the BD add-on rumors have died down now after MS has repeatedly said it's not going to happen.

Doesn't Xbox have much better movies though. I know it doesn't have all new releases but it looks to have a much better selection that PS3. And Marketplace has a lot of good tv shows too. Does the PS3 have as good of a selection?

I have no idea. I've never looked at the movies or TV shows on either system.

I know 360's marketplace is more commonly used, but the difference is that the PS3 makes a better centerpiece of a hi-def system.

What about PS3's internet browser? Is it pretty good? I have heard it's clunky. WHat limitations does it have?

I used to get on here and post semi-regularly with my brother's Logitech bluetooth keyboard back in January and February. Worked great.
