| MS news conference at E3 I'll try and hit some of the highlights:
-New dash coming this fall with avatars (they will be used in games, too) Avatars are much like Home on the PS3. You can form a party and look at pictures/videos/etc. together.
-New Galaga sequel, new South Park game, Geometry Wars 2 (next month), and new Portal game for XBL Arcade.
-Netflix exclusive to 360. Can watch movies with your avatar party system (buddy has Netfllix, you don't; he can share them with you while he watches something).
-Final Fantasy XIII coming to the 360
-Guitar Hero World Tour ships with over 85 songs on the disc. New Metallica album available for GH upon the album's release. Eagles and Van Halen exclusive to GH.
-RockBand 2 setlist revealed (new GnR song from Chinese Democracy...). 84 on the disc, 20 free DLC songs at launch, all previous DLC works, and most songs from first disc can be exported to work in 2. I put the full setlist in Rockband 2 thread.
-Live gameshows, etc. in their new primetime channel (showed 100 vs 1 with prizes and uses avatars).
Here's a pic of the new dash coming:

| Rumored that there will be a Lego Halo announcement......I really hope not. Halo is my baby, I don't want them to ruin it like the other Lego games. |

| Seems to be some confusion over MS's implementation of Netflix and sharing. Seems pointless if the stuff engadget is reporting is true.
From Engadget:
Netflix - For now, Netflix will only stream in about-SD resolution.
- As Netflix transitions to HD, Microsoft said it stands to reason that streaming HD to the Xbox should be feasible. (Read: eventual.)
- Netflix will be for Xbox Live Gold members only, so you'll be paying that $50 per year if you want it.
- Netflix video sharing ONLY works with other Netflix / Xbox Live Gold subscribers. You can't share video with a Silver member, or who doesn't subscribe to Netflix.
- Microsoft doesn't seem to have concerns about redundant content between Netflix and XBLM, or Netflix cannibalizing XBLM sales. Makes sense -- if you had content available to rent or stream with Netflix, you probably weren't going to pay to rent it on XBLManyway.

The 360 will offer the ability to load the entire game on the HD and run it from there (with the disc in, of course). Will cut down on the jet engine sounds of the dvd drives. |

Thanks for the E3 news Rosen |
