After hearing about all of the RROD, I bought the cooling fan for the back of mine. I figure what is $20 to save all of the headaches and trouble. No problems so far. (Knock on wood.)

Pretty sure those fans have never been proven to help that much. I've had two different friends who got RRoD faster than I did and they had fans on from day 1 of purchase. I got through about 3 years or so without any problems and not using a fan until I got RRoD. But...whatever helps you sleep at night

That's interesting since the 360 won't be 3 years old until November...
