I doubt anyone here owns a 1080i only HDTV. Those were pretty much first and second generation CRTs from years ago. So, it's a non-issue. The game renders at 720p on both systems.

I don't game on mine anymore though, I got a new 1080p LED DLP in March.

See, you may have one, but you aren't using it any more.

I feel bad for folks with a 1080i only set. There's lots of good PS3 games that they have to play in SD because Sony was too cheap to include a scaler like every other video device made nowdays.

I still use it in a different room. It is still an excellent HDTV. It is directly connected to my PC via a DVI to component adapter I have, made by ATI. I have been considering getting a second HD cable box for it so my wife gets more use out of it while I'm playing games on the big new box.

Your point is well taken though.
