| Official NCAA Football 2009 Thread We have a NCAA 09 suggestions thread, so I figure we need to create the actual NCAA Football 2009 thread to talk about what they're actually doing to the game. |

So, ready for next season? EA certainly is, as the publisher today confirmed NCAA Football 09 will greet the marching band on July 15 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Looking to spread the cover-star love this year, EA has decided to grace the boxes of the individual editions of the game with separate athletes. Leading with the Xbox 360 edition, EA has named University of Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden.
With 4,485 yards in 37 games, McFadden holds the distinction as the University of Arkansas' all-time leading rusher. Among the speedy power back's many awards and distinctions, McFadden has been selected for the First Team All-SEC three times, been named the SEC coaches and AP Offensive Player of the Year in 2006, was the first sophomore to receive the Doak Walker Award for best college tailback two years running, and is a two-time Heisman Trophy runner-up.
As for what EA Tiburon will be bringing to the table this year, NCAA Football 09 will feature an all-new "break away animation engine." The new mechanic will give players the ability to interrupt special moves on the fly, which EA hopes will give gamers more of a responsive, dynamic feel to the onscreen action.
EA plans to unveil the PS3 cover athlete on April 24, with the PS2 and PSP stars to be named in early May. The Wii cover will feature the winner of the NCAA Football 09 Cover Mascot Challenge, which will be announced on March 18. To keep tabs on the various cover stars, keep an eye on EA's official NCAA Football 09 Web site.

| I think they messed up McFadden's fingers when they were photoshopping the cover shot. They look too skinny and too bony.
I found the original picture. It's definitely been edited it a lot.

| well can't wait for this game as always though they keep letting me down. In that interview they said they were concentrating on gameplay, but I think they have much larger fish to fry. He did mention electricity and atmosphere so I suppose that is a step in the right direction. Hopefully that means when you win a national championship, it doesn't say, you win the nc game over. |

| Last years game was cool but it felt rushed. Now they have a ton of time to get it right and make the next gen game that we all expected last year.
The presentation has to get better....I had only slight problems with game play last year. If its the same half assed presentation I will trade it in the very next day. |

| I had more problems with gameplay. It just felt so stiff and rigid compared to last gen (I'm on PS3, so it was 30 fps). I never really could get into it like I have in the past.
There were also too many of those games where the CPU's "must win" mentality kicks in, and you end up with 5 lost fumbles and the CPU has zero.

| I was on 360 but I found the gameplay to be one of the better parts of the game. Work on the other aspects please. |

If they just took the gameplay from 360 and everything else from the xbox game, they would have a much better game than what we've had the past couple of years. |
