Sometimes it seems like I'm playing NCAA 08 online because there's a little bit a delay from hitting the button to seeing it happen on some things...

I don't feel like I have much control over the players, mostly on defense.

There seems to be a problem with the animation system...

...when I catch the ball my reciever comes out of the catch animation & stops for a split second for me to gain control. It's not a smooth transition like it should be & it costs me a lot of yards every time.

It's true that there are way too many completed pass'. The completion % is much too high than what it should be. I find it near impossible to defend the pass most of the time. My defenders flat out refuse to at least try to bat it away when a 80 year old grandmother could intercept it.

My first game I played I was down 0-3. I punted....made the returner fumble it, I picked it up & ran it back....the following kickoff I again made the returner fumble it & picked it up & took it back....the next kickoff.....yep did it again. So I'm up 21-3 right now & then the cpu starts completing everything & comes back & takes the lead 21-24. My next drive I scored. 4th quarter. Just seconds remaining. The cpu uses it's TO's wisely & marches right down the field & gets inside the 10, clock ticking, pass caught with 1 second to go...I lose. 28-31. All because there is no pass coverage. it's quite frustrating.
That fact killed the online aspect of the 08 game for me. I really hope the address the lag in 09.

from the videos i've seen, 09's gameplay looks far superior to that of 08's. i'm surprised there have been complaints about it. i'll try the demo out later on tonight.

well, i just played the demo and thought it was a great improvement gameplay wise over last year's game. it's a relief to see realistic player movements after last year's stiff and clunky animations. that being said, the demo had a huge amount of bugs in it. for some reason when i called my play art up, the lines showing the receiver's routes were moving around in a squiggly way. anybody else experience this?

It's supposed to do that. It's to bluff your opponent.

Actually, I think its because your teams composure has dropped. When you start out your routes show up like normal, but as your composure drops, your players start having problems knowing what routes to run, blocking schemes etc. Pretty cool feature in my opinion.

i thought about that but didn't think they would actually put something that annoying in the game. it got on my nerves.

if that's true that makes it a little bit more bearable.

The squiggly play art is part of Home Field Advantage.

It has to do with the QB composure & how loud the crowd is & so forth. You will be able to to turn it off in the full game.

I liked the demo and thought it was an improvement. I was one of the few that liked last years alot. My only complaint is that there is no real sense of speed on the field. The lineman look like they are running about as fast as the runningbacks.

I timed it in the 07' version I think, and the fastest player ran 40 yards in like 6 or 7 seconds. I guess they have to do that or people would score on just about every play.

Played the demo... not sure about it yet. Running is hard...almost too hard. Passing is easy.... almost too easy.

I like the QB compsure idea. It add some more realism to big third down plays and the like.

I can see this game turning into a Hail Mary war online. I hope I'm wrong.

I just got home from a trip, and realized the demo is out. I'll check it out tomorrow for sure... need to start getting a feel for it so I'm ready for online gameplay July 19th.

When you get the snap you can't just plow ahead into the line like in previous games, you have to wait for holes to open up & use your stutter moves & then run.
