It is brand new, but I am wondering if that was something that happened to anyone else or if they earpiece might be bad.
Mine works ok but I have to turn it on in the PS3 menu before I play.

I finally figured it out. It was a Motorola bluetooth. There are some of them that interfere with the controler at times. I just took it back and bought the cheapest one they had (plantronics I think) and now it works great. A win, win really. I only use it when I play my friends on COD4 anyway. No reason to use it when your playing with people you don't know. Way too much garbage talked at times.

Anybody know what is the deal with AC6 on PS3? Been waiting on some kind of word and havent heard nothing. Sent namco a email about 5 days ago about the subject and no reply yet. You would think they would put out a official letter on the subject to there game fans on sony consoles and have not.

Mine does when you first turn it on but I think its the external fan that I have added that does it. Have you thought about putting a fan on it. It might be the location you have it sitting not letting heat escape.

AC6 on PS3 isn't looking too good. However, a couple weeks ago, a Namco slide was seen with AC7 listed on PS3.

I haven't had any of these problems. I left mine on for 3 days once. Went down to watch a movie and thing was already running. Didn't seem hot. Popped the movie in and watched it without any problems.

Maybe you have a fan that has failed inside?

yeah I know. Its crazy, you would think they could atleast put out somekind of newsletter or something. The best rumor I heard was, That is was a business decission that they made where they didnt want to spend 16mil to develop AC6 for PS3. Another one was sony P'ed them off cause they released warhawk (or whatever the name of it is) on PS3.

Thank you for your interest in our games. While it is true we published the previous Ace Combat titles for Playstation platforms, delivering Ace Combat 6 for one platform allowed us to focus on one technology to deliver a strong, robust game. There are currently no plans to release Ace Combat 6 for other platforms. We hope that you get a chance to play Ace Combat 6 on the Xbox 360, and thanks for your continued support.

Please feel free to contact us again in the future as the need arises.

My new white dualshock arrived on Saturday. I will finally have a chance to try it tonight or tomorrow. MLB08 supports it (as do most games) which is why I went ahead and ordered one. After they announced the $55 price tag for the US release, I just spent $60 on ebay and go it now instead of waiting.
