If you've got kids, there are a lot more reasons than just SMG to by a Wii. Most of the games for the other systems are just too hard for kids (and me too, quite frankly) to enjoy. Wii is intuitive and easy for the young ones. Another great game on the Wii is Lego Star Wars - nearly endless fun, in my opinion. Really, any Wii game that focuses on the mini-games is worth the money for the kids. For example, Carnival Games is just that - simple carnival games (dart toss, football toss, ring toss, knock over the cans with a baseball, dunk tank, hammer, etc.). The concepts are easy enough for anyone to grasp, but the games are hard enough to make it fun. Bottom line, for the kids, and for adults who aren't heavily into gaming, you can't beat the Wii. And let me tell you, on those occasions when you've got a room full of drunk adults, you won't find more fun than the Wii can provide, IMO.
