I need it for a lot of exterior and interior shots of my homes design while they go up and after completion for marketing.

Well, IMO, getting 11-13 MP out of a "lightweight" DSLR is pretty sketch. That's a lot of pixels for a little sensor. At least a Nikon D80, ideally a Canon 40D. Expect something at least in the $1300/$1400 range for a decent DSLR with that MP rating.
