| | Shuffle cutting mod | Comcast blocks some Internet traffic Saw the article this morning and remembered most around this board have Comcast. Comcast blocks some Internet traffic - Online World - MSNBC.com Quote: |
Comcast Corp. actively interferes with attempts by some of its high-speed Internet subscribers to share files online, a move that runs counter to the tradition of treating all types of Net traffic equally.
| Quote: |
If widely applied by other ISPs, the technology Comcast is using would be a crippling blow to the BitTorrent, eDonkey and Gnutella file-sharing networks.

The "Net Neutrality" debate erupted in 2005, when AT&T Inc. suggested it would like to charge some Web companies more for preferential treatment of their traffic. Consumer advocates and Web heavyweights like Google Inc. and Amazon Inc. cried foul, saying it's a bedrock principle of the Internet that all traffic be treated equally.

Their customer service is not existent. In fact, this reminds me of a story: Quote:
At one time in my life, I thought I had a handle on the meaning of the
word "service."
"It's the act of doing things for other people."
Then, I heard these terms which reference the word SERVICE:
Internal Revenue Service
Postal Service
Telephone Service
Civil Service
City & County Public Service
Customer Service
Service Stations
Then I became confused about the word "service." This is not what I
thought "service" meant.
So today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had
hired a bull to "service" a few of his cows. BAM! It all came into
perspective.
Now I understand what all those "service" agencies are doing to us.
I hope you now are as enlightened as I am.

| FYI, setting your BitTorrent client to start looking for ports 6881-6999 and opening those ports in your router will fix this issue.
Comcast blocks 10,000 and up b/c that's the default setting of most trackers. They do NOT block these other ports. I have it fixed and I have no problem. As long as something is seeded well, then I get stuff fairly fast. |
