| | Super Moderator | XBOX Help Ok, so I'll preface this by saying that I've been a die hard Playstation fan and anti-XBOX. However, I've also heard that XBOX Live is much better than Playstation online and to be honest, I want to play some of the games that PS doesn't offer. I'm aware of the pros and cons regarding both systems, so we don't need to get into that. I'm shopping for an XBOX and I'll eventually get a PS3 down the road.
Now, I'm totally clueless when it comes to XBOX, so let's just say I'm dumb to the whole thing. So I might require dumbed down explanations.
I'm looking for a console that will primarily be used for gaming. I don't really care about the downloading, although I don't really know about everything you can do with the XBOX.
My first question would be: To have a smooth online gaming experience, does it matter if I go with the basic console with 20 GB's or should I be looking at the Elite with 120 GB's? Does the GB size matter at all when it comes to gaming? Someone at gamestop told me that in order to play online, the 120 would serve me better. Then someone else somewhere else told me that 20 is all I would need.
Also, is there anyone here who plays from a wireless connection? If so, how is that working out for you?
Suggestions would be appreciated.

| | MODest | Whoever told you that you need a 120GB hard drive for better online GAMEPLAY should be fired. The major usage for the hard drive is for downloads... movies, arcade games and the like. |

| All you need is the 20Gb unless you look at downloading extra content (movies, demos, arcade games, etc.)
Online game play is the same on all of them. Don't go wireless, I've heard very bad things about it. Hard line is the best way to go. |

I guess my next question would be, if money wasn't an issue, is it worth it to spend the extra $100 on the 120? What are some of the things you can download? |

My setup would have to be wireless. I'm definitely not going to switch things around. What kind of problems can you have with it? Interruptions and such? |

| There's boatloads of arcade games if you're into old school games... there's gamer profile stuff (pics, backgrounds, themes). Usually a new demo every week, sometimes more than one. You can download movies, but they only last for like 24 hours after the fact. Most of this stuff you have to pay for, but demos are free, some gamerpics and themes are, also. |

Interruptions and such? | I guess it all depends on the distance. You don't really want to travel more than 20-30 feet from your router, or you'll experience interruption issues, or so I've heard. I don't personally own the wireless reciever. Plus, $100 is a lot of money for something that, if you were to change things around, would probably only cost you upwards of $50, depending on the distance again. |

| | MODest | What sort of distance are we talking about from your router to the 360?
They have High-def movies available, as well as games that are similar to what you would find on a free Flash game site like MSN Games, and also major game demos as Volatile stated... Xbox.com | Xbox LIVE Marketplace |

I don't really care about old arcade games. Quote:
