GTSport_Reveal_May_19_20_GTPlanet-638x359.jpg

After over six months of silence, GT Sport is ready for its first gameplay showing. As you’d expect of a company that has announced a title at a racetrack (GT6), and taken over an entire town for a release party (GT6 again), Polyphony is pulling out all the stops, showcasing the PS4 title in downtown London, at the Copper Box Arena, a former Olympic site.

The two day event begins a week from today on May 19. Kicking off with a livestream of a brand new GT Sport trailer, this private portion of the event will include gameplay opportunities for the members of the press in attendance, as well as the beginning of the first GT Sport eSport event. GTPlanet founder Jordan will be present, even taking on commentary duties. The evening will look something like this:
•6.45pm BST – 7.00pm BST: Run down of the day’s events, news and a showcase of the brand new GT SPORT trailer
•7.00pm BST – 8.30pm BST: Nations Cup Pre-Season Test and the Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships:
•The Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test
•The Nations Cup Pre-Season Test
•8.30pm BST – 9.00pm BST: Trophy ceremonies (1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each cup)

The 'side' GT games (not numbered) have been pretty lousy in comparison to the main series

LOL you guys are some cynical bastards!

Release Date: November 15th, 2016

•As mentioned, the full retail release is set for November 15, 2016.
• The game will feature over 130 cars, including new PD-created race versions of existing models. All cars will feature an interior view, and have been built from scratch for PS4.
• 17 tracks at launch, including new additions Belle Isle Speedway and Tokyo Expressway.
• Tarmac and rally racing to be featured.
• For the first time in GT history, a livery editor is included!
• 117 Events are available offline.
• In addition to the above, the FIA championship will be a primary feature of the game. A digital licensing feature will be available in 22 countries, a number likely to grow before launch.

• GT Sport will feature a renewed Museum mode, last seen in GT5.
• Photomode has received an overhaul with the inclusion of “Scapes“. Hundreds will be available for players to chose from, with no limit on cars included in the shot.

Just give me a GT like the ones on PS2 with the same setup, but current gen graphics and engine and I will be happy

Well, the Forza crowd is going to have a field day with this considering it has less than half the cars Forza 6 does and half the tracks. However I'm sure there will be a season pass, so we'll see how quickly new content gets added. However keep in mind this NOT GT7. This is a separate thing from that. GT7 is still in development.

Personally I'm glad this is a "leaner, meaner" GT. I thought having 1200 cars where most of them were duplicates and crappy off the lot economy cars was dumb. I'm glad this is focusing on the higher performance models and they are all "premiums" which means they are all rendered with the utmost detail. I just hope new content isn't "IV dripped" out at a snail's pace.

Here's some new footage posted today. I think it looks pretty good to only be a 50% build of the game. I see a little shadow pop in and some screen tear but I'm sure that will be ironed out before the game ships. Plus, I don't know what it is but Polyphony does lighting quite like no one else. It's subtle, yet beautiful at the same time.

Yeah the E3 build of the game was a massive improvement over the build they showed at the May event. I still can't believe they used that early build to debut the game. You never get a second chance to make a first impression and that event really soured a lot of gamers.

Look at these side by side comparison shots between the May build and the E3 build...

IMO - this is one of the genres that is going to benefit most from VR's early stages; racing, flight sims, and maybe even something like Mech-Warrior are all perfect applications for VR
