I'm not a big fan of the mac os...in fact, it's probably the biggest thing keeping me from going to a mac. we have been looking at mac for my wife's photography buisness and i'm just not looking forward to working with their os. just my .02

OSX gets a lot of publicity. If you aren't that deep of a computer buff you may actually find yourself liking it.

The newest ones, this is true. They have moved to an intel processor that is now x86 like everyone else.

The point here is that you get a lot less machine for a lot more money if you buy a Mac.

I've been playing with a pre-release version of Vista since June. So far, it's been nothing but crashes, blue-screens, and heartache.

I agree with the earlier posters- It's not worth it until Service Pack 1 comes out.

Also, if your PC is older than 1 or 2 years, don't try it. You'll be very unhappy about the performance of your pc.

I wish their SQL like filesystem that was originally planned for Vista had made it. I guess they never got it working how they'd like but it sounds cool and a potentially good idea.

They wound up killing far too many of the new features.

Vista is a resource hog like XP was when it first came out. Let the hardware catch up for about 6 more months from now and I think I will probably go with it.
