At this point...
Does it have a better online presence? No.
Does it have better arcade games? No.
Does it have a BluRay player for movies? Yes.
Does it have more expandability (ex. Linux)? Yes.
Does it have better games? No.
Will it have better games? Depends on what you like.
90% of games will be on both platforms, just like last time around.
There's huge potential with Linux and creating a media/games box with the PS3.
Should be plenty of games.
Would I buy it now over a 360? No way. Will that change in 2 years? Possible.
360 has the PS3 whipped when it comes to the controller and online/downloadable features at this point. Can't say much about the games since it just launched. |

I don't think it support headsets, either. But remember, there's a year more development with the 360 so that's not completely unexpected. There's a learning curve for game developers. I'd compare cross-platform games a year from now when PS3 devs are up to speed and in a groove.
That's one of the reasons you can't compare games right now. Resistance on the PS3 is smooth as silk and never has any framerate problems or screen tearing. Never. Then again, it's not quite up to Gears as far as graphics go; looks great, but not a technical masterpiece graphics-wise. But, the smooth gameplay makes it really fun.

All good points. Except I have always liked Sony's controllers MUCH better than Microsoft's. The 360 seems alittle bit better on this issue- but still hasn't got it quite right. The standard controller for the first X-box was downright awful!
I havn't experienced the new PS3 controller, but I doubt they deviated much from the PS2. |

No more rumble, so the controllers weighs a third of what it did before. It's incredibly light, which is something I don't like.
I was a die-hard dual shock fan for years. It was my favorite controller hands down until the 360. I prefer the stick placement on the 360 much better for shooters and really any gameplay. I like the size of the 360 controller better as well.
The PS3 controller is pretty similar minus the weight and motors inside. Even still, the 360 controller is better in my opinion due to stick placement, weight, rumble, and button types (like the triggers more than the R2/L2 buttons). Seriously, the biggest reason I like the 360 controller better is the stick placement. Just too close together on the PS and oddly placed now that most games require using both sticks for movement and camera.

I can't believe that they removed the rumble feature from the controller.

So, they made up some excuse that it interefered with their motion sensor technology and dropped it.
I guess it might have something to do with MS owning part of the company that owns rumble technoogy. |

| w00t!! Just rolled up to the Best Buy on my lunch break and got to play the PS3. It's astounding!
The triggers for L2 and R2 are quite different, and the motion sensing that allows you to turn by tilting the controls left and right was pretty surreal.
Graphics are unbelievable. |

360 has the PS3 whipped when it comes to the controller and online/downloadable features at this point. Can't say much about the games since it just launched. | It all comes down to opinion. Sony also has quite a few more options with a couple of great game series... Halo is the only notable one on XBox. Sony, you got Ace Combat, Final Fantasy, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear, the list goes on.
Also, as far as controllers go, I agree the 360's is very well-designed. However, there's a reason the Dual Shock has remained virtually unchanged for ten years.
Like I said though, it all comes down to opinion. I expect the PS3 to have the same number of quality games available as the 360 by summer '07 due to the overwhelming consumer and developer preference of Sony in the Japanese market.
