Halo 5: Guardians Officially Announced, Coming Fall 2015 | DualShockers

Halo 5 Trailer (HD) - YouTube

At long last the time has come, and Microsoft has revealed the official title of the next chapter of the Halo framchise, which will be Halo 5: Guardians. The game will be released in fall 2015 exclusively for Xbox One.

“Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.

But that’s not all, as Microsoft teased that at E3 they will reveal their plans for the Halo franchise in 2014, which means that we’re probably getting the rumored Halo 2: Anniversary, even if no official announcement was made about that today.

I hate to see them cut out 4 player split screen. One of the reasons I've always loved Halo was that it was one of the last FPS franchises that supported it.

This time around, the Chief is joined by three of his fellow schoolmates that help make up Blue Team. In spite of Halo's wealth of transmedia, 343 Industries has stated that Blue Team probably has more lines of dialogue in Halo 5 than they have in all the books, comics, and videos released to date, so it will give fans a better look into the personas of some of Halo's oldest warriors.

Fans of Halo lore will recognize the members of Blue Team. These are the Spartans who were trained alongside Master Chief. In a way, Blue Team is Chief's surrogate family, and he often thinks of them like they are his brother and sisters.

Abducted at the age of six, all Spartan-IIs were taken away from the parents of various outer colony worlds and inducted into the Spartan program on the same day. This means every member of Blue Team has known each other since they were six. As a result, the members of Blue Team have developed a kind of sixth sense instinct that helps them anticipate each other's actions during battle.

In contrast, the Spartan-IVs seem like a wholly noble effort. The men and women in the Spartan-IV program have chosen a life of military service. They’re driven and often the best of the best in their respective fields. “If these were real guys, they would all be quarterbacks,” says franchise development director Frank O’Connor. “But they are ultimately people. So they’re not robotic, single-minded monsters like Tom Brady. They’re more noble, handsome, beautiful Russell Wilson-types in my estimation. And you can quote me on that.”

343 Industries compares the Spartan-IVs to Nissan Skyline GT-Rs: every aspect of their armor is computer controlled, and every tool they have is state of the art. While the Spartan-IVs have some biological augmentations, they are simple, lower-level augmentations that were not nearly as invasive as those the Spartan-IIs received. Out of the suits, most Spartan-IVs wouldn’t stand a chance against a Spartan-II, but thanks to their top-of-the-line gear, Spartan-IVs are theoretically as good as Spartan-IIs.

Not even a contender.

Fallout 4
Star Wars Battlefront
Black Ops 3

Hell, even NBA 2K16 the way it's looking would get more consideration.

My opinion was similar to yours but it's changed. It will be received better than Black Ops 3 more than likely.

Black Ops 3 is a copy cat of Titanfall without the Titans and good movement. COD has and never will be in the running for GOTY.

Personally, I think Battlefront will be released with a lot of bugs.

Call of Duty has won GOTY 3 times lol.

Call of Duty
Call of Duty 4
Black Ops 2.

Halo Combat Evolved is the only Halo to ever win it

This Halo is not anything like the others. That is why I'm putting it in the conversation.

I am hoping that DICE learned from screwing up BF4 at the beginning. I have a feeling people are going to be disappointed with Star Wars but I hope I am wrong.

Now playing the Master Chief Collection, feels good man. Can't wait till Halo 5 multi-player. I really enjoyed the beta.
