Former Boston Red Sox Curt Schilling says baseball fortune is all gone after company crash - ESPN Boston

Even though he's best known for his days as a pitcher, he's making the news now for the crash of his video game company 38 Studios. That really sucks that all his baseball money is now gone.

Heard about this on sportscenter yesterday. Pretty sad. But at the same time, what fool puts nearly all of their fortune into a company that could easily turn over such as one in the video game industry. I feel bad for all of those employees that moved to RI.

Yep, seems like if he wanted to get into the video game industry there are better ways to do so without blowing your entire fortune.

Hate it for Curt but tend to agree. KoA was actually an extremely good RPG, I thought.

I love the guy. Hate to see his company collapse. He'll recoup some of his losses while working at ESPN. The employees he had to lay off won't unfortunately.

Oh I agree. I don't feel as bad for him as I do those employees. He's still got a nice income, they won't. Although I did read that a lot of gaming companies reached out to those laid off and offered them jobs.

It's what happens when you try to be a major game developer and do it on your own, instead of whoring out to a major publisher. Sucks for Curt, I heard Amular was pretty good, just not my cup of tea.

Every year I get sucked into buying an RPG and I get bored with it. Too much going on for me.
