Ok, I admit the subject title is a little sensational but I found this article interesting.

The hardcore gamer will always stick to their PC or console. Meanwhile the average/casual gamer is moving to their mobile device.

I think i've played only a handful of mobile games in my lifetime.

I agree that mobile gaming is alot bigger than it ever has been, but I have a hard time seeing it becoming as big as console or pc gaming in the near or immediate future....and honestly, I would hardly classify those that just play mobile games on their smartphone as "gamers" in the first place.

Apple is as good of a candidate as any, though, for a company that plans to pioneer a breakthrough in the mobile gaming industry.

Phone games are for waiting at the dentist's office or riding the subway. A fairly entertaining timekiller, but nowhere near console or PC level.
