Aside from the 360 and the PS3, there hasn't been much talk about the Revolution on here. Anybody plan on getting one of these? Ive heard alot of good things as far as gaming goes, but im still skeptical about that screwy controller they have for it. Plus nintendo has a reputation for all of their games being made for the younger age group.

After much contemplating, I have decided to go with the cheaper Xbox (the old one), I have heard that it still will have more processing power than the wii (Revolution). I have had a used one before and was VERY impressed. I am sticking with my Dreamcast and my Gamecube in the time being. The Xbox will be $100 in about a year or so and I will pick up a new one when that happens.

ive thought about doing that too. but you have to wonder how much longer they will still make games for the original xbox. ive currently got a ps2 but it's almost on its deathbed since it is one of the early models...

So? All the franchises aimed at young'ns are the ones a lot of us grew up on. Mario, Zelda, etc. I'll be getting one. The Revolution will probably be a lot like the Gamecube to me... I'll wait until it drops in price because there are still a few games out there I'd really like to pick up. I did that with the GC for a few games, such as the Metroid ones.

It's not that. I like Mario and Zelda and all that. What I meant was that you dont see Nintendo make GTA type games or anything. I dont have anything against the younger games, I just wished they made more games for the older age group..

Rumors are the Wii will be either $199 or $249. It certainly has no where near the graphical power of the PS3/360 but it's certainly no slouch.

I'm interested in trying it for myself. However, given that their last 2 or 3 consoles had a VERY limited library, I'm in no hurry to pick this up. They sure have great games, but I like having variety and a choice on what to play.

One thing that bothers me is some of the Nintendo stuff they showed. It made it appear more like an ever so slightly better model of someting you'd buy in a mall kiosk for $19.99. The tennis and baseball game in Wii Sports looked awful and were incredibly simplistic. I personally prefer real life licenses and the simulation type sports games on other system. Cycling through receivers in Madden then "flicking my wrist" doesn't sound very fun to me either. I'm afraid I'd like it for a month or two and then grow incredibly tired of it. Nintendo track record of releasing 1 new game every 3 months certainly wouldn't help me either.

I'm also not willing to spend money on older games for the vitual console. I can play just about all of those games on my computer or XBOX without any problems and without spending any money. Again, this is another area I think folks might be wow'ed for a month or two and then realize playing old games that require repetition to master a level aren't that much fun.

In short...Very interested to try. I have doubt right now, but want to try it out with an open mind.

I think you feel the same way I do. Wait on it, pick when up after a while when there is a decent library available.
