VN's 30 for 30 Proudly Presents:

What if I told you that winning means more at some places than others?

That no price was too steep, and no one should ever stand in the way of the common goal.

McQueery.jpg

At a place where legends are worshipped. Idols from one generation are passed to down to the next without question.

What if I told you that even if you reach the top of the mountain, if you're too afraid to look back on how you got there, you truly never arrived.

In a place where legacy lives eternal, symbolisim does not.

One legend.

One reputation.

The critically acclaimed producer of VN's 30 for 30 series proudly presents:

For 61 years, the face of State College was without blemish. It lead its student athletes on the field every Saturday in hopes of continuing to further its grand reputation. A reputation founded on the concept of leadership, compassion, integrity, and honesty.

JO PA entering stadium.jpg

Achievments and accolades from around the college football world adorned the halls of a once proud institution. Personal records were celebrated even, and the fan base clamoured to every minute of the percieved optimisim for the future.

JoPa 400.jpg

But the clouds formed many years before began to cast shadows across the valley of happiness. Soon the errie sky that loomed overhead would cast out a shock wave so strongly created from previous years of disgrace, that it would prove to be far too much to fathom.

Denial set in.

And then,.......

reality.

That last voice of a proud family was left behind to sift through the aftermath. An untimely end of an era for some, and an unwanted burden for one.

I feel for his kids. They had no idea. Of course their reactions aren't all perfect.

Imagine your father being bigger than life, then retiring, then dying, then the info comes out.

Would be very difficult

That type if action skews the most reasonable persons, sense of right and wrong. Almost like the brain shuts down because it can't handle the truth.

I think we all had the same thought. I did anyway. Felt terrible for him at the time. As more and more info comes out, I feel less bad for him lol.

Questions remain unaswered to some. Others have made their judgment. The most damning of these would be handed down as swiftly as possible.

The eye of the storm arrived.

ncaa.jpg

Left in the wake remained both the innocent

psu fans.jpg

and the guilty.

spanier.jpg

What's to become of a once storied program that so proudly represented itself as a harbour for aspiring young people to explore a higher education as well as exccel in athletics?

And what of the past gladiators and their own legacy?

Are these the images we now should grow accustomed to?

removed statues.jpg

Is this all that remains of 6 decades?

Questions.

Questions like these may very well go unanswered for some time now. Certainty though, those we wish to ask.......

have left us with much more than they set out to.

I think "Pocket Presents" would have been a better name for your documentary.

I'll consider that for the "spoof" version if I create one, complete with out-takes, directors commentary, and a link to a you tube video of my dipping Copenhagen while in deep thought.
