At first, this sounds a little crazy. But, let's look at their schedule

Sept. 4 Louisiana-Lafayette
Sept. 11 at South Carolina
Sept. 18 Arkansas
Sept. 25 at Miss State
Oct. 2 at Colorado
Oct. 9 Tennessee
Oct. 16 Vanderbilt
Oct. 23 at Kentucky
Oct. 30 Florida (in Jax)
Nov. 6 Idaho State
Nov. 13 at Auburn
Nov. 20 OPEN DATE
Nov. 27 Georgia Tech

They could be as good as 8-0 before the Cocktail Party, or as bad as 3-5. The problem is that with the exception of Alabama, and possibly LSU, the SEC is wide open this year. It's kind of hard to tell right now who is going to be able to win it all, and who isn't.

that's true. but they have to come a long way from last year. That was a joke.

Arkansas could easily finish better than LSU in the West.

UT usually plays well in Athens.

BEST case I see 9-3 for UGA, with losses to UF, Auburn and South Carolina.

NEVER pencil USCjr in for a win.

If there were any time for UGA to make a run at the division and for Mark Richt to put down any questions about his job security, this is the year.

Agreed. This is UGA's year to prove something. The only thing that will hurt them is a freshman QB.

Not a chance. Facing S. Carolina, Arkansas, and Miss St. will likely give them two early losses. Travelling to Colorado could be tricky as well.

The way I see it, they will have to come a long way just to have a winning season.

Possible/Probable losses: S. Carolina, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Auburn, Ga. Tech

And installing a new defense. They have the athletes and depth to be a monster, just not sure the coaching is there.

Maybe not for Arky.....

Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett breaks foot, will miss spring - ESPN

If he has any trouble healing it could keep Mallett out.

I agree with the 9-3, that could happen.

Yeah, that changes things a bit. I hope he heals in time for fall practice.

If Mallett is healthy I expect Arky to finish higher than LSU. The Les Miles Effect is kicking into overdrive in Baton Rouge. The Hat's seat will only get hotter.

He'll be in Ann Arbor come December. Rich Rod will have another losing season, get canned, and UM's fans will call for a "Michigan Man" to come save them. Miles won't say no this time.

I don't think they will lose to:

La Lafayette
Colorado
Idaho St
Kentucky
Vandy

That's a good 5 wins right there to build on. If they split the rest that is an 8-9 win season. They will have to do better than that though.
