It's early, but Mullen isn't exactly lighting it up recruiting at UF

I remember when UT fans were popping the champagne corks about this time 5 years ago. ..

It's early. A lot of time between now and signing day(s).

Yeah its early. WAY early. Besides, Mullen is a good enough coach, top 15 (Maybe even 20 some years) classes and he will be fine at UF.

He won’t be fine if he recruits between 15 and 20.... he will end up fired in a few years.

We’re getting out recruited by 8 teams in the SEC. we have the same number of commits as UF. We’re barely beating them. Yea. Lighting it up.

You can't look at the team rankings this early. They mean nothing until every team gets 20 or so recruits commited and you can really compare. Until then the Average ranking of each recruit is a more accurate forecast of where each class is going. Georgia has the best class going thus far and their team ranking is 10. We are ahead of South Carolina, LSU, Miss State and Ole Miss in terms of the quality of recruits we are getting thus far.

Plus we have a 5 star OL and a 4 star OL commited. Getting top rated OL followed closely by DL is the quickest way back to the top for us.

My feelings are if he develops a quarterback and uses the talent available like I expect the offense will be sick

Or at least good for first time in forever then recruiting will be fine

Mullen is the 3rd best coach in UF history without even coaching a game.

If you can't name a coach before Spurrier then you probably think UF has a storied football tradition. Or maybe successful would be more accurate.

Looking like Mycah Pittman is going to commit in next month or less

Mycah Pittman, Calabasas, Wide Receiver

Down to UF and Oregon but out of 17 predictions he’s 100% to UF

Also some think Chris Steele could follow him shortly after Pittman commits

Only reason I give us a chance is Ron English seems to be pretty good recruiter in Cali and Newberg a mole mos put in a UF crystal ball

Pulling Steele is a long shot but UF has excellent decade plus history of high DB draft picks

Like an insane amount of first second and third rounders

Really UF hasn’t squandered very much talent guys come to get drafted high and far more often then not they do

Esp the elite like Vh3, tabor, Elam, Keanu, maye, Quincy, et

And a lot of those guys end up playing a lot as freshmen even last year Marco and CJ they took their lumps while showing tons of promise

They going into this year one of the top CB duos in the sec possibly the country

Steele would play a lot as freshmen as nickel at least possibly even outside if he’s really frickin good and takes one of the other 2 spots

Chris Steele, St. John Bosco, Cornerback

Prolly end soon up at USC but never know even if he did pick UF actually signing him would still be incredibly tough

But I do like that there would be 2 and not just 1 elite Cali kids easier keeping 2 or 3 that are all friends then 1 who’s got everybody and they moms saying stay home

So in 2019 UF could potentially have Trevon Grimes, Van Jefferson, Tyrie Cleveland, Jacob Copeland, Mycah Pittman, Kadarius Toney and about 4 other top 300 WRs lol talk about an a change of scenery

Doubt Miss st ever had that much star power on any starting 22 let alone one position group

Plus a very strong and diverse backfield

Just need to coach up QB and OL

By 2019 tho I’m pretty sure we will have either a Emory Jones or Jalon Jones starting

Ehh not bad esp If they add Pittman

Florida 2019 Football Commits

Also not sure why Lucas Krull isn’t on list he’s unranked on composite but 247 apparently loves him they have rated a 92 and 4th best JUCO player in country

I think most would agree 247 has the best evals

For example last they were the only ones to recognize Malik Langham was a beast late in the process and grave him a fair bump same for the WR Tenn found that got a bump late after tenn offer but ultimately flipped to FSU

Tennessee has a more storied football tradition than Florida.

Congrats man, you totally got us beat there. :birgits_giggle:

Fun fact:

When the Vols and Gators met in the swamp last September, both were ranked in the top 25.

Obviously both teams looked awful in that game (well, in every game all season), but with a few breaks the Gators could have been 5-1 going into the Georgia game. Maybe their coach doesn't go full funny farm in that situation? Who knows?

Point is, we honestly really aren't going to know much about either one of these teams until at least October, but that is what makes college football fandom so great IMHO.

There is nothing else like it.

They were also fortunate to get out of Kentucky with a victory. For some reason, the Cats secondary couldn't get lined up at the snap a couple times. Should once again be a match up of two bad teams. Not saying much, but Florida is a winnable game at home.
