I remember someone doing a thread like this a couple of years ago. I thought it was neat and was interested in seeing new opinions.

Pretend that you're a highly sought after recruit and everyone program wants you. You get 5 official visits to take at their expense. Where are you going?

My 5

1 Hawaii (Experience Hawaii and the views)
2 UCLA (The girls and get out to Cali)
3 Oregon (To see the facilities and mountains)
4 Tennessee (Would still want to experience it here)
5 I'm having trouble with deciding

Where would you guys go and why?

I’ll take Tennessee out of the equation,

1. Arizona State, the scenery
2. Ole Miss, the scenery
3. Notre Dame, they’re obviously not what they used to be, but still a mystique about the campus and stadium.
4. Stanford, Palo Alto
5. LSU, especially if it’s a night game

USC “scenery”
Florida State - crazy “scenery”
Clemson - to see what all the fuss is about
Miami - it’s Miami

South Florida- scenery
Miami- scenery
Colorado- the mountains
Hawaii- it’s Hawaii

Left off Tennessee to be fair and not pick them every time

Pretty much anything north of the Mason Dixon is off my list. I don't do cold too well. I would have to consider Alabama at this point for the national exposure if I thought I could make it to the NFL. Let's be honest, it is much more likely to get a Heisman there then at Tennessee. The Heisman hates us. Tennessee will still be on the list for obvious reasons. I would definitely look at Clemson too. It is pretty there like here and Dabo does seem like a sincerely nice guy. I like the campus of UGA too although it makes me nauseated a little to think of being a Dawg.

My oddball choice would be Stanford. You get to live in Northern California for a few years and would get a great education. Plus, it would be a lot easier to shine in the Pac 12 than the SEC.

If not TN, then

Barn...get to play Bama and GA every yr... closer to east TN than LSU.

FSU get to mash Gators.

Colorado..."scenery" and scenery.

UCF... c'mon it's Disney World.

Va Tech... probably best and geographically closest program to East TN.

5. UCF
4. Memphis
3. Notre Dame
2. Any PAC-10 school.
1. UT

I'd want to go see what made the premier pretenders think they were so good, then swing through Knoxville and commit on the spot.

But then again, I'm biased.

Go Vols.

UNLV( Vegas Baby)
Colorado St( To visit Denver and Mile High)

With all these temptations, why would someone like Peyton Manning come to Knoxville? Will tell you why - National exposure. Ole Miss wanted him, and when that fizzled, he came to UT.

All it takes is to get the program back to that level, and they will come. I'd live in Knoxville any day over Tuscaloosa. Even Auburn, Starkville, Oxford.

As for scenery..(wink wink). It only takes one - lifetime supply. Scenery also exists in Knoxville. GBO

Lol. I have an uncle and some extended family out there. Haven't been since summer 2016 when I went for a wedding in OKC.

You ain't missing much of their new facilities. It's about on par with what UK has.

Not a slam against UK either as they spent some coin and put in some nice toys.
