Huge win for the Blazers on the road at Southern Miss.

Moved to 5 - 3; one game from bowl eligibility after a self-imposed death penalty. 3 of the last 4 are winnable - will be favorites in 2 (Rice, UTEP). Toughest is at UF.

Getting bowl eligible should earn Coach Clark COTY awards. Remarkable job.

Go Blazers.

It is awesome to see them do so well with bare cupboards.

Can't wait to see them with a little depth.

It's crazy just how bad UAB facilities were. The Old Grey lady is what it is but the weight room and offices were worse than your average high school. My cousin was the baseball back in the 90's and he felt he didn't get the support he needed from the AD to be a competitive program. UAB no doubt has had their hands tied behind their backs by the BOT for years.

Back to football. In the end the shutdown of the program was the best thing to ever happen to it. With support from the administration and the city growing the way it is we have the potential to be a top tier mid major athletic program in every sport.

Imagine this...somehow, someway CBJ finds a way to lose to Southern Miss. The same team that lost to UAB (which recently just resurrected their program from shut down).

Then the following Monday, Currie comes out in support of Jones and the staff.

This is our current status among the football elite.

With CBJ there is always a will and a way to lose the easiest games.

Kinda like New Coke, isn't it? :)

Back with a weekly update. UAB destroyed Rice 52 - 21 (49 - 7 at one point) to become bowl eligible (6-3).

UAB finally extended Clark's contract this week and gave him a substantial raise.

Great week for The Return.

5 - 0 at home is a great way to keep the momentum going for fan support and UAB will be favored to go 6 - 0 at home.

The greatest story in college football continues - UAB grabs another road win to move to 7-3.

Next up - the Swamp Lizards of Gainesville. I'd feel pretty good about the game but UAB had a ton of injuries tonight.

Still, with UTEP left UAB should hit 8-4 after a self imposed death penalty and starting the season rated the worst team in the country.

Go Blazers! Suck it Paul Bryant Jr.

We should seriously go after Bill Clark. He's easily the coach of the year.

I'm curious about your take on what happened with the dismantling of the football team. What little I've read seems to be a lot of conjecture.
