HC Lovie Smith has named the son of former Illini star QB Jeff George Sr to replace struggling Chayce Crouch..Smith also moved Freshman Cam Thomas to backup, dropping Crouch to 3rd string....

Jeff George, a high school All-American, was recruited by UT coming out of HS. He signed with Purdue, which was a lousy team at that time, and was sacked a record number of times and decided to transfer. I heard that he made overtures to come to UT, which had been his second choice, but mule headed Johnny Majors said no thanks. (Insiders correct me if I'm wrong on this).
