Probably just history repeating itself. They need a Tennessee Volunteer to come down and bail them out again.

Texas recruiting is down because of Texas is #4 in it's own state. Noone cares about them. It will take years to get good recruits in there.

Saban lost to UAB in 2000. A week later he beat Tennessee in OT.

While it is one game, Herman brought his DC with him. With that said they looked terrible. But it's year one and takes more than 6 months to implement systems.

Strong didn't look much better. A USF ranked #19 is laughable and struggled with Stony Brook. Again, year one.

The moral to the story is the ranking system is broken. You don't rank teams by the head coaches name.

I wouldn't say Strong is on a roll, his team was losing to Stony Brook for most of their game.

Yeah. Totally different when Meyer takes over OSU. Who is always stacked with talent. We're talking about a school that has sucked for 6 years.

2018 class is top 5 so far. So NEXT YEAR? :)

It's the first freaking game of his tenure, dude. Give the man some time.

Okay, proven: he's not a miracle worker. Things didn't immediately become perfect. Got it.

Now let's wait to see if he's still a very good coach.

Strong's last class was loaded also. Talent's there. Gotta coach it up.

It's his first season. Losing your first game your first season doesn't make you a bad coach nor does it mean Texas is a bad program.

They knocked this hire out of the park and if they give him 3-4 years, they will be happy they did

Here's the thing though...

Even with them being a P5 team, Texas doesn't lose to Maryland. Period. And Strong didn't leave the cupboard entirely bare. Also though, perhaps DJ Durkin is better than others gave him credit for. He seems to have Maryland moving in the right direction at the moment and is in year two. Perhaps they are on an uphill trend as he gets his recruits into the system and comfortable.

Yeah, Maryland has some horrible uniforms. It's like they are trying to outdo Oregon in the snazzy uni department and utterly failing at it.

It's like someone in their fashion department covered themselves in super glue and jumped in a dumpster behind the Goodwill store.

At Houston, Tom Herman lost to 3 teams he should not have lost to, one was SMU.

Amazing at Texas it is the school whereas at other schools it is the coach.

Jury it still out - but they did not look good at all.

Pulling out a 4th quarter win against Stoney Brook and Charlie Strong is back!

when you hire a coach who lost to Navy, SMU, and Memphis the previous season should you be that surprised he loses to Maryland?
