Great Florida quarterback in the 60's who battled alcoholism. Also, I believe he was Layla Kiffin and David Reeves dad, IIRC. I remember the incident when Coach Dickey let his defense let Miami score a TD as time was running out to let Reeves get 10 more yards to break the alltime passing record.

Wow, I had no idea John Reaves was Layla Kiffin's father. Crazy.

Wish the man's surviving family well. And hope they're all Tennessee Volunteer fans. :)

He and Carlos Alvarez got embarrassed on the 4th Saturday in October 1970 in Neyland Stadium. The score was 38-7 just one week after we had embarrassed the cheating Tide, 24-0 on that same field.

In those days we did not complain about "tough schedules," we were the tough schedule. That is what attitude football was all about.
